Back in September, while R.E.M. was rehearsing primarily in the Seney-Stovall Chapel, they invited French filmmaker Vincent Moon to join them one evening, when they shot five videos for what is called a “Take Away Show.” It’s all acoustic, all in one take, and the videos include quite a few background scenes of Athens. Following is one of them, “Until the Day Is Done.” The rest can be seen on Moon’s blog with some wonderful commentary about the band and the videos.

Local rockers Dead Confederate are included as one of the Bands on the Verge in the most recent Relix magazine. The guys opened for R.E.M. at SXSW and are working on their first full length release. They’ll be playing Friday Thursday at the Star Bar in the ATL.
