Monahan was formerly the lead vocalist and bass player for Shadowgraphs, an indie rock band based in Connecticut. Since then, he has relocated to Athens and formed a softer indie folk band. - Trisha Klein

Ferron and Bitch
9 p.m., The Melting Point

Singer-songwriter and folk icon Ferron has influenced Ani DiFranco and The Indigo Girls over the course of her 30-year career. Her next record, “Boulder,” will be released on June 17, and was produced by rock musician Bitch, who will join Ferron on tour to help her perform her newest tracks. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m. - Trisha Klein

Sugar Dixx, Language Arts, Little Francis
10 p.m., Tasty World

Sugar Dixx was formerly know as Sugar Dicks, which had the honor as being named one of Flagpole’s Worst Band Names of 2007. The band, a side project of ex-Some Animal members Gabe Vodicka (Longlegged Woman) and Roy Coughlin, plays a lo-fi mix of garage and folk rock. Augusta’s Language Arts plays poppy indie rock, and features Jamie McGaw, who is also a former member of Some Animal, on drums. Local act Little Francis plays bluesy roots music inspired by ’50s rock ‘n’ roll and church music. - Trisha Klein
