Wilmot Greene

Georgia Theatre owner Wilmot Greene wants to try a hand at something new. “I guess I’m playing record producer,” said Greene, who has owned the music venue since 2004. Greene has cleared the venue’s entertainment schedule for a week beginning Monday. He plans to use the space to record an album for local pop band Venice Is Sinking. The Cowboy Junkies’ 1988 record “The Trinity Session” serves as inspiration for the endeavor. Read the full story…

Hayride, The Dumps, Thrones
10 p.m. Caledonia

Hayride’s back! This long-running (1991) but rarely playing loud rock ‘n’ roll trio is hitting the stage again. Guitarist Kevin Sweeney will knock your socks off - one of the best in town. Bassist Nick Bielli and drummer Dave Gerow are also omnipresent local musicians. Thrones (probably headlining) is the project of Joe Preston from Harvey Milk and Melvins. The Dumps play a loud metalish rock. - David Bill

Mr. GnomeMr. Gnome
10 p.m., Tasty World

One week after releasing its debut album, “Deliver This Creature,” Cleveland, Ohio’s Mr. Gnome (left) is coming to town. This duo of vocalist and guitarist Nicole Barille and drummer Sam Meister plays alternative rock with a feminine side, thanks to Barille’s hauntingly breathy vocals. Their music will appeal to fans of Portishead and P.J. Harvey. - Trisha Klein

American Cheeseburger, Invasion, Under Pressure
8:30 p.m., Flicker Theatre and Bar

At this international concert, three punk bands (Spain’s Invasion, Canada’s Under Pressure and local band American Cheeseburger) will attempt to out thrash each other. Bring your earplugs for your health. - Trisha Klein
