DMC talks about how hip-hop has changed
The majority of audience members listening to Darryl McDaniels on Tuesday night had not yet been born when Run-DMC released their legendary album “Raising Hell” in 1986. “Y’all don’t even know what cassettes are,” McDaniels, aka “DMC” of the pioneering rappers Run-DMC, said to the crowd in the Tate Student Center theater at the University of Georgia. Wearing a Radiohead T-shirt, McDaniels dedicated much of his freewheeling lecture to praising hip-hop to the rafters. “If you think about it, hip-hop makes the world go ’round,” he said.
