Lee’s newest CD has who’s who of musicians
When singer-songwriter Amos Lee makes his Athens debut tonight at the 40 Watt, he’ll endeavor to recreate the rapport he’s developed with audiences in numerous cities. “I just want to connect everywhere; that’s my thing,” says the Philadelphia native during a recent tour stop in Raleigh, N.C. “Anyone who wants to listen is who we want to play for. (Playing live) is what we do, it’s what we love and it’s what we live for. I feel fortunate to be able to play music and have a pretty good following in a lot of towns.” Touring in support of his third album “Last Days at the Lodge,” which came out in July, the 31-year-old Lee combines a soulful countenance with folk- and rock-influenced songs, creating an addicting combination of performance and composition.
