'Jackassolantern' out today
The third in Widespread Panic's sabbatical releases is out today. From the band's Web site: "In honor of their annual holiday fête, Widespread Panic will release 'Jackassolantern,' an album of their favorite cover songs pulled from their legendary Halloween night concerts over the past several years. One of the biggest events of the year for their fans, Widespread Panic usually hold their outrageous party in New Orleans and sometimes in Chicago, but made an exception in 2003 when they moved it to Madison Square Garden in New York City. 'Jackassolantern' pays homage to the annual affair, which draws thousands of costumed fans from around the country. In stores (today) (on Widespread/Sanctuary Records), the album will also include a majority of tracks featuring Michael Houser, the band's original guitarist and co-founder who died in 2002."
The track list:
1. Sweet Leaf
2. Sympathy for the Devil
3. Sex Machine
4. Hot In Herre
5. Peace Frog / Blue Sunday
6. Slippin' Into Darkness
7. Wind Cries Mary
8. Ball of Confusion
9. Godzilla
