DBT keeps kicking ass

The Dirty South"The Dirty South" has been getting great reviews, and the band continues to tour its ass off. If you haven't had a chance to hear anything from it yet, you can hear four tracks from our New Music page. Here are some key phrases: "The Dirty South is one of the most topically urgent albums of the year."; "The Drive-By Truckers are the best, smartest, and most soulful hard rock band to emerge in a very long time."; "The Dirty South stands as a classic rock and roll record."

Let's face it, whether you like DBT or not, they kick ass. Three guitars will do that. It's great to see another local band reach a decent level of success. As a side note, a question was recently raised on Spreadnet, a Panic Listserv, about the greatest songwriters, and Hood, Cooley and Isbell came up with some regularity. There are many fans out there. Enjoy.

BTW, Patterson will be playing a solo benefit show at Nuci's Space tomorrow (Thursday). And then the band heads back out on the road, from the Midwest to the West Coast and back again. And the bad-ass Southern-rock saga continues.
