Will you melt with these jams?

U-MeltI received a press kit from the folks at Simon Says Booking promoting U-Melt, a band from up North that can be described using three words: Typical. Jam. Band. If that sounds like something you're into, check them out at Last Call this evening. The most interesting thing I read in the press kit (very professional -- definitely not the product of a half-hour spent at Kinko's) was a mention of a gig with Phish (well, not really). And I quote, "They solidified their stature as one of the best late-night bands in the east by playing two long sunrise sets in the campgrounds of Phish’s Coventry festival (which earned the band thousands of new fans)..." This was amusing because it sounds as if they were not really on the bill and played an impromptu set-- in front of their tents for all we know. I've been to many a festival, and when the late-night drum circles start handing out demos and business cards, it's time to run!
