Neal Pattman dies at age 79
Some sad news to pass along. Local blues legend Neal Pattman, 79, died on Thursday. Mack & Payne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, which haven't been released yet. Pattman was one of the first performers I saw when I moved to Athens a decade ago, and saw him several times since. He was the epitome of the blues. His harmonica playing and bluesy voice would make you feel something special, and you'd just have to get up and move your feet. He will be sorely missed.
