Rowan and Rice shine at Melting Point

Peter Rowan and Tony Rice put on a great performance at Melting Point last Thursday. Rowan is probably best know for his role in the "supergroup" Old and in the Way alongside Jerry Garcia, David Grisman and Vassar Clements.

On this evening Rowan and Rice were joined by the talented (and gorgeous) Bryn Bright on acoustic bass and an unknown beauty (at least to this blogger) on mandolin. I wasn't the only one to think that this mystery woman on mandolin wasn't plugged-in (or at least turned-up) on a few occasions. Nonetheless a wonderful set in great room. Attention smokers: the venue retains its intimacy and great sight lines even when you light up on the patio.
