Sean Arington sounds like “perpetual summer.” Since moving to Athens in the mid ’90s, he has played with One Big Eye and Big Atomic. Now performing on his own, Arington focuses on crafting lyrically driven, honest songs. The Mayhaws are a four-piece band from Tallahassee that plays “acoustic stomp and revelry” and “honky-tonk shenanigans.” - Trisha Klein

Dromedary Quartet

In its current incarnation as a quartet, Dromedary’s co-founders Rob McMaken and Andrew Reissiger are joined by a rhythm section: jazz bassist Chris Enghauser and New Orleans drummer Louis Romanos. The band plays improvised jazz and world music, inspired namely by West Africa, the Andes, Eastern Europe, New York City and the South. The quartet released a new CD, “Sticks and Stones,” earlier this year. - Trisha Klein

The innovative DJ Diplo is well known for his remixes and mix tapes of baile funk music, the street-party soundtrack of Brazilian neighborhoods. He’s sure to get you up on your feet and dancing. It’s hard to say how many people will be on stage with Dark Meat, but their psychedelic punk is also bound to get you moving your feet. Future Ape Tapes also performs. - David Bill

Kaitlin Jones, Coy King, The Starter Kits

Kaitlin Jones is a local singer-songwriter who often plays with her band, The County Fair. A member of local folk band Timber, Coy King, who plays the upright bass and piano, will perform a solo show. Led by Mikey Dwyer, The Starter Kits play rock music. Motormouth and the Soft-Spoken Band will also perform.

Hot Pink Money Shot, Vialka

Not surprisingly, Hot Pink Money Shot plays testosterone-fueled rock that is loud and hard. Vialka is the French duo of Marylise Frecheville and Eric Boros. They describe themselves as a “turbo folk micro-orchestra.” Admission is $5 to $7.

Jason Beckham, Spencer Frye, Christopher Henderson
