Artist: Southern Bitch
Title: Snake in the Grass
Released: November 2004
Label: Captiva Records
Notes: From RockAthens.com: These three guys and one girl have chops for days, and musically "Snake in the Grass" is the album "The Dirty South" should have been, supple and fiery, full of lengthy guitar workouts that drive home with a sledgehammer's grace the epic dissolution and everyday frustration of a fractious American landscape.
From Flagpole: (T)he band has shifted direction, closing the gap between their aggressive live shows and their roots-ish past. "The band has really come into its own and has a unique sound, I think now," explains guitarist Wendy Musick. "It's gone more in a rock direction and is a little less country ... a little less twangy." This kind of change is what the band thrives on and helps keep it energized.
From musicmisfits.com: Every song on this album is a blantant reaction to the state of the country and the world in general. Musick feels very strongly about his country and the band help drive through his disappointment and frustration ably. The rhythm section of Chuck Bradburn and Chris Ellenburg lay down solid, tight foundations while Adam's wife Wendy sends out some smoking leads throughout every song.
